St Michaels Resort in Falmouth recently secured a substantial loan to drive its sustainability ambitions and fortify its position as a top holiday destination for ethical travellers.

With views spanning Gyllyngvase Beach, the award-winning hotel obtained funding to improve its wellness amenities, grow its environmentally conscious operations and invest in greener initiatives.

The financial injection will be deployed to refinance current debts while supporting all-new infrastructure enhancements that are designed to decrease the resort’s impact on the environment.

Restructuring companies to operate using more sustainable processes and technology can be an expensive endeavour. However, hospitality business loans are available that can help companies accelerate their ambitions and invest in greener practices.

The Falmouth hotel already has a Gold Award it received from the Green Tourism Business Scheme for its long-term support of responsible hospitality.

Describing its ethos as “Feel Good Again”, it has a hydrothermal spa, a cutting-edge health club and a “Green Team” which organises local beach cleans and promotes conservation in the area. Always enhancing its greener offering for guests, it recently upgraded to more energy efficient systems and refurbished rooms with more eco-friendly features. It also provides e-bike rentals for those who come to stay.

Commenting on the resort’s approach, Nigel Carpenter, its owner, remarked that St Michaels Resort was proud to be leader for sustainable tourism in the region. He added that the hotel is committed to creating nourishing experiences for its guests while supporting the local Falmouth community and respecting the planet.
