The Albert Hotel in Kirkwall on the Scottish archipelago of Orkney recently completed its large-scale expansion plans.

Made possible thanks to substantial outside funding, the hotel now has 12 new guest rooms to meet growing demand. The modifications also included increased accessibility features in a brand-new reception.

Hospitality business loans prove invaluable when hotels, guest houses, restaurants and other types of enterprises in the industry seek to expand. Loans can finance remodelling and expansion plans without putting pressure on cash flow.

The venerable hotel opened more than 20 years ago and is now respected as a cornerstone for business and leisure travel in its location. The funding injection has empowered owners to extend the premises, relocating the public and reception areas to a roadside site that is easier to see and access. The aim of the recently finished refurbishment was to answer the accommodation needs of Orkney that are especially high in the summer months.

The plans are also part of the Albert Hotel’s continuing commitment to supply high-quality services and meet the ever-changing needs of guests. For instance, the project included the development of more contemporary, boutique style rooms featuring a modern design and luxurious furnishings.

Recent estimates issued by the Chair of Destination Orkney advise that the tourism boom on the archipelago now has a value of £114 million to its economy, requiring a growing need for quality accommodation. The Albert Hotel is not only committed to satisfying this demand, but is also positively contributing to the local community.
